IDEAS for a Perfect HANDMADE CHRISTMAS

Last year we had a 'Handmade Christmas' with my family...Mum & Dad made mine & my sisters gifts. If I'd known this was happening I'd have also made gifts as I blummin love that shiz!

It's not only cost effective (very important for this year) it is also sooo imaginative & thoughtful...knowing that the gifts have been thought up, planned & then the time has been taken to meticulously make them all by hand...This is so much better than a last minute gift ordered from amazon!

Do you wanna see what I got?!?...

Clockwise from top left:

- A gorgeous vintage tin filled with a mix of home-baked shortbread biscuits (here is a photo of the tin...obvs the biscuits are long gone!)

- A Bottle of Homemade Bramble Gin - the label says "Hand picked at the oriel with the help of Molly" - Blackberries picked at the oriel, Scarborough where 'Mops & Pops' take their dog Molly for a run around.

- A Homemade Patchwork Cushion (made from an unfinished quilt project I remember from my childhood)

- A Hand painted personalised 'Ranksy' Artwork - Painted by dad (Ranksy;-) & he also carved & painted all the bricks.

HANDMADE GIFT IDEAS

These are great ideas & I have listed some more below, with links to tutorials & lists of supplies. If you don't have a lot of time maybe you could make just one gift & buy the rest...

- A TEACUP CANDLE...

Did you know I used to make & sell hundreds of these back int' day. They are not as trendy nowadays but still make a lovely gift. I wrote this tutorial on my (old) blog which I have linked here

- A KNITTED SCARF...

If you have knitting skills (I do not) then how about knitting a scarf, hat or a jumper for your loved one. If you are a beginner, a chunky wool option may be easier & quicker. Check out this beginners tutorial for this lovely scarf here

- A MEMORY PICTURE...

If you are someone who picks up shells, stones, leaves, flowers on your travels then this is a great way to display them, along with photos & any other memorabilia such as ticket stubs. Hand written or typed wording and descriptions can then be added to make it more personal.

- PHOTO ALBUM...

Have you discovered ‘FreePrints’ yet? You can order 45 free prints (4x6”) every month & just pay for postage, honestly it’s great! I add white borders to mine to make them look more vintage…you then pop them in an album with a few meaningful words and it will make a great, thoughtful gift…just search for the app;-)
