ABOUT ME

Hello! I am Kirsty & I started Rankidoodle Printshop in Lockdown 2020. I was furloughed from my full time design job & used it as a way to stay creative, busy, sane & most importantly outta the biscuit tin!

What started as a little hobby has become my passion! My prints are all illustrated by me, digitally in adobe illustrator, then printed on 100% recycled card at a small printers in Leeds.

I am inspired by the vintage travel posters of the 50s & 60s but wanted to add a twist to these with a fresh colour palette, hand drawn patterns & places people may not have seen as artworks before.

After graduating with a degree in Textiles in 2004 I started my first design job at Hallmark cards in Bradford. This was the most amazing & inspirational place to work, at the time it had the biggest design studio in the UK with (don’t quote me) around 120 designers! I worked on the ‘Next’ team (yes, the shop) designing cards, wraps & bags for all occasions.

My next design job was at Arthouse Ltd, a wallpaper company in Lancashire. I was employed to work on the newly established ‘wall art’ team. I loved it here, I think I found my calling with wall art & I created lotsa designs for the British high street…you may have seen or even bought one!

My current job is with another wallpaper company…designing actual wallpaper ( yes, that’s a job) I enjoy my job, it’s busy & varied & I work with some lovely peeps…

…but think my heart is still with wall art…hence why I started Rankidoodle printshop, which is now my ‘evenings & weekends job’.
